In Korean, the word Samsung is the means of “Three Stars”. In 1938, it was founded by Lee Byung Chull as a small with a $2000 nest egg and 40 employees. From the beginning, it was a trading company exporting all kind of products from South Korea to Beijing, China. After Korean War, Samsung Company was developed into many different areas. The company started purchase and creating different business establishment including securities, retail and insurance. In 1969, Samsung Electronic was establishing by South Korea’s Giant Samsung Group. From that, they start entered into electronic industry. They start producing television, radio’s, mobile phone, computer components and other electronic devices. 1 million black and white TV was produced at year 1974 and gradually increasing to 4 million at year 1978. After that, 1 millionth colour TV was produced in the year1981.
In 1987, Kun Hee Lee took over as a chairman after the owner was passed away. In 1990, Samsung began to expand globally building factories in the US, Britain, Germany, Mexico, Thailand, China and Spain until year 1997. In 1992, Samsung become the largest producer of memory chips in the global. After that, Liquid-Crystal Display screen was born in 1995 and become the world’s largest manufacturer of LCD after 10 year. Samsung become a World Olympic Partner in the wireless communications category in year 1997. Nowadays, it is not only a brand. It is brand of many different devices, machine, it is sponsor of many group and it is a worldwide known company. Samsung has been dedicated to making a better world through diverse business that today span advanced technology, semiconductors, skyscraper and plant construction, petrochemicals, fashion, medicine, finance, hotels and more.
